Had botox for my frown lines. I pushed my eyebrow arch up with my finger to adjust my brow hairs. Will it affect my result?

Had botox for the first time in for my frown (24units), about 45 mins after the procedure I accidentally pushed my eyebrow arch up with my finger with a bit of "umph", without thinking; it was an automatic response when looking in the mirror, to adjust my brow hairs. I am worried that it will have moved the botox. Will this affect my result?

Accidentally poking or scratching of the brow after Botox injection 45 minutes after the procedure is very unlikely to cause any trouble.  We recommend avoiding massaging or rubbing the area for the first few hours after the procedure, but a few "pokes" should have minimal effect.  The full effect of the Botox will take up to 7 days to appreciate in most cases.

Given that you had pushed the eyebrow arch 45 minutes after the procedure the likelihood of negative effects as a result of your "motion" is minimal. It would be a greater concern if you were to do this immediately after procedure.

This is very unlikely to negatively affect your results. Time will tell, however. You should know for sure 5-7 days post Botox treatment. Only time will tell if accidental manipulation of Botox will adversely affect your results. I think the chance of this occurring is minimal in your case but it may not be be visible for several days to a week.if this does occur I recommend follow up with your physician.Good luck to you.

Botox establishes itself within minutes and cannot easily be disturbed.  While general aftercare advice is to animate for the first hour and avoid vigorous rubbing, it is fine to gently touch the skin.  A single push up on a brow is very unlikely to affect results.

How long ago was this event? It doesn't sound like this incident is significant enough to cause displacement or migration of the injected Botox but it doesn't matter because only time will tell and there is nothing anyone can do about this except to notice if there are any problems and them see if there was a connection with this incident.

Thanks for you question. Pressing or massaging an area just after Botox injection could cause the product to migrate and relax your muscles in an unintended way. It doesn't sound like you applied pressure too much or too long so I wager you are safe; you will know for sure in a week. See your physician injector if anything doesn't look right. Hello Lyss897,It is unlikely this will cause a problem.  I would not recommend it (and I tell my patients to avoid massaging the area).  There is always a slight chance that you could have moved the Botox if you pushed in an area where you were injected but the chances are quite low.
