Can botox to the 11s only cause eyebrow or eyelid droop?

Ive previously had botox to the 11s and the forehead and I suffered quite bad eyebrow droop. Im considering having it just to the 11s. Is this likely to happen again and can it also cause eyelid droop? Is there a way of avoiding this? Also is there a way of avoiding the eyebrow droop if I was to try botox in my forehead again?

More than likely your eyebrow droop was from the location of your botox and improper layer as well.  Medial brow ptosis or descent of the central brow can occur for several reasons:
Botox placed too low within the frontalis muscle along the forehead including central forehead.  The frontalis muscle elevates the forehead and by decreasing activity here the central brow can drop
Botox placed too superficially along the corrugator.  The botox will again impact the frontalis muscle and paradoxically lower the central brow.
Botox is best injected by an experienced injector to lessen wrinkles while improving facial appearance.

The easiest way to improve your results after treatment with Botox is to seek out a better injector.  Inform your surgeon about your past issues, and he/she should be able to tailor your treatment to achieve a much more attractive result.

Thank you for the question. The eyebrows can fall if Botox in injected too low in the forehead. Inexperienced injectors frequently cause this problem. Injecting the area between the eyebrows (the 11's) is less likely to cause ptosis; however, occasional the Botox can migrate to the upper eyelid and cause ptosis. Fortunately, the drooping eyelid usually resolves within a month. Make sure you see an expert injector. Good luck.

Botox can cause eyelids and eyebrows to droop depending on where it was injected.  I suggest speaking to a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is experienced to prevent this.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Hi Armstrong,Drooping of the eyelid after Botox injections is fortunately very rare, but can be avoiding by injecting the correct dosage into the proper place. Botox can be an excellent treatment for the so-called 11s, those vertical creases between one's eyebrows, in the central lower forehead.  Experience allows us to place a proper amount of the drug in specific portions of the muscles in that area to achieve a noticeable improvement, with very low risk of weakening the other muscles that lift the eyebrow or eyelid.  Lowering of the eyebrows would usually be related to Botox placed in muscles above the eyebrows, rather than between them.  Be sure your doctor is aware of your results, including in-person evaluation.

Proper placement on the brow area should result in brow elevation. Improper placement, and or over diluted Botox will result in the problem you experienced before. Find a proper injector, who understands anatomy and function of the face.This will ensure you achieve the correct result.

The neurotoxin you had was either placed too closely to other muscles that cause drooping or diffused into the wrong area. When done correctly, neuromodulators give a great cosmetic result.

These are great questions. It is important to know the risks of any procedure before agreeing to it. One of the risks of Botox is spread to unwanted areas or muscles. Treatment of the forehead can cause eyebrow droop or eyelid droop. These issues are usually less common in glabella treatment (11's). Eyelid droop can be improved with prescription eye drops. Most importantly, follow up with you injector after treatment, and always ask your injector any questions before proceeding.
