After 3 appointments I've had 3 different suggestions about how to get rid of submental fat and achieve a stronger jaw line. I would like some other opinions please. I've had 3 off label treatments of fat dissolving on my submental fat with no results. Will chin filler help with this or do I need a whole lower face left or kybella? Thank you.
Answer: Chin Liposuction and Thermitight Chin liposuction helps reduce the bulge under the chin and can be done for the whole neck. Once the fat is removed the skin can become loose and saggy in some cases. It can be avoided by combining it with Thermitight which is a radiofrequency heat delivered under the skin to tighten it. Both chin liposuction and Thermitight can be done at the same time. The recovery is fast and it can be done under local anesthesia. Click on the video link below Regards Dr. J

Answer: Deep plane neck lift Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. The contour along the jawline is only slightly problematic to a point where it can be corrected suitably with a neck lift intervention. A deep plane neck lift procedure would, in my opinion, address the concerns you have about the volume under the chin. It seems that the volume is generated by some centrally placed fatty tissue, and lateral to it, I can see the volume of the digastric muscles and the lower part of the submandibular glands. The lateral structures are not corrected by liposuction or fat-dissolving injections, so surgery remains the only mechanism to control them. Liposuction also does not work under the platysma muscles and definitely does not work on muscle tissue or salivary glands. For a more defined contour of the jawline, I think that the deep plane neck lift is your best option.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Consider your options for addressing submental fat Thank you for your question and for providing photos. You may benefit from a combination of facial liposuction and RF microneedling to remove submental fat under the chin and improve the skin’s overall elasticity. Liposuction can remove excess fat from below the chin to create a more sculpted appearance, while RF microneedling can improve the skin’s elasticity and encourage collagen production. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They’ll be able to better assess your concerns and suggest the best options for helping you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Fillers For Lower Facial Contouring Can Secondarily Improve The Submental & Upper Neck Regions If you are looking for a quick, simple and temporary solution, fillers would make a very logical solution. A volumizing filler placed in the region of the angle of the mandible (jawbone) and along the jawline itself would straighten not only diminish the jowl along the jawline, but would likely improve secondarily the upper neck and under chin regions and to some extent the marionette lines. Volumizing filler in the chin would not only help to harmonize the projections of the nose and the lips in profile, but would additionally likely improve the upper neck/under chin area. If still necessary, less robust fillers could be used for directly addressing the downturned angles of the mouth. I routinely perform all of these procedures in one sitting, if the patient wishes, in about a 30 minute session. The results usually engender an immediate "Wow!" reaction and give rise to little to no significant downtime. It would not be surprising that you would be so delighted with the results of the aforementioned and with the resulting secondary improvement in the upper neck and under chin regions that no further work would be deemed necessary. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist and make sure to ask to see his/her personal befores and afters prior to agreeing to proceed. Best of luck
