50+ year old female, athletic - runner, 145-147 lb, 5'7" BMI 23, Fat % 32.6. Body measurements are 38, 32, 40, wants BBL with liposuction of the waist for a smaller waist and abs for ab definition, etching will there be enough fat to harvest? Some fat on the flanks and back /front bra roll, along with some on the abdomen. I would like to also have fat transferred to my face in the cheekbone area to add volume. Would I be considered a good candidate or would I be required to gain more weight?

From a personal view point, Columbia does not offer more in patients seeking a BBL. What they offer is better body sculpting that most American surgeons pay lip service to, but cannot deliver. I was down in Colombia twice, perfecting my VASER Hi Definition liposculpting technique including the 4D Lipo and tummy tuck. All those areas mentioned by you, are addressed and treated by the body sculpting surgeon. The fat is removed, the arms, abdomen, back, waist are sculpted and the fat is injected into the buttocks. There's minimal manipulation of the fat and does take experience and an aesthetic appreciation to deliver the best results. Answer: Good Candidate for BBL? Your height and weight make you a candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift provided that you are otherwise healthy but you will likely not have enough fat to make for a very large butt. If that is what you desire, I would recommend weight gain or buttocks implants. Good luck!

It sounds like you are probably not a candidate for a BBL but certainly some of that fat could be injected into your cheeks. The downside to ANY fat injection procedure is that you can expect to lose 25-30% of the fat that's injected. As you can imagine, it takes a large amount of fat to get any noticeable difference in the buttocks. At 5'7" and 145lbs, It's likely you do not have enough volume of fat that would make a noticeable difference in your behind.

Answer: A few thoughts I don't know what Columbia or Miami offers. I've never been to either one.I do know there are talented plastic surgeons all over the world. There's no way to make an assessment based on the information you have given. Much more information is needed such as body fat distribution skin laxity possible muscle separation from previous pregnancies etc. etc. etc. while some plastic surgeons will encourage patients to gain weight if there's insufficient fat for fat transfer I am not a believer in this concept.It seems like a reasonable idea if someone is planning on being heavier for the rest of their life. Gaining weight in order to do fat transfer and then losing it seems like a flawed concept to me.Any fat that will be successfully grafted will shrink with weight loss. I would start looking for board-certified plastic surgeon's in your area that have excellent reputation and expertise in these particular procedures. There's no substitute for an in person consultation.Find the right surgeon and everything will fall into place. while there are times traveling long-distance is reasonable for cosmetic surgery it's generally not a good idea. While these are generally safe procedures the importance of follow-up cannot be overstated. This is obviously especially true for patients who developed complications or need revisions. my practice is almost exclusively devoted to body contouring using liposuction and fat transfer. We do have people who travel to our office from other areas to have procedures. I encourage people to stay local when possible. At this point you may want to consider reposting on real self with pictures. I would be very careful requesting abdominal etching. While it can at times given impressive results can also unfortunately lead to permanent disfigurement.this is especially true for any one with skin laxity. California city is certainly within A reasonable distance from Los Angeles.
