Hi, I had liposuction done on my saddlebags 4 months ago and I'm worried about my results. I had my post op appointment 2 months ago and my surgeon said to wait but it seems to be getting worse. I would like to know what this problem is called. What has happened and why? Is there anything I can do to make it better? Could losing weight (fat) and gaining muscle help? or can it only be fixed with a revision surgery? If so, how soon could I have this surgery? Thank you for your help!
Answer: Sunken and sagging buttocks after liposuction - 4 months post-op. Thank you for your question and photos. This is very unfortunate, you went from a younger looking buttock to buttocks you expect to see in someone who is beyond the seventh decade of life. It is a very common surgical misadventure. First, one must understand what happened before a plan for correction can be devised. The surgeon needs to trust his/her preoperative markings done in the standing position. Once, the patient is prone on the operating table, tissues shift and look different. If the surgeon now follows the "new shape" and not the preoperative markings, this is the end result. Besides liposuctioning the minimal saddle bag deformity, your surgeon proceeded to liposuction the posterior latera buttocks, the buttock crease, banana rolls creating a collapse of these areas.I see more patients in my practice each year with similar problems. Liposuction, means literally vacuuming out fat. Your surgeon got over enthusiastic in completely emptying these areas. If one does not respect or understands the anatomy poor results will be achieved. To say to wait until the swelling is gone and it might improve, is just postponing the inevitable. If the tissues are collapsed now, this will be worse over time. The good news is that this can be improved for you significantly. This is not a touchup, it is major revisionary surgery and might take more than one procedure to return you to "normal". See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation evaluation. Good luck.

Answer: Liposuction Based on your pictures you look like you will benefit from liposuction with Bodytite to this area for tightening. Always see a board certified PS in person for a detailed exam and evaluation.

Answer: Sagging buttocks after liposuction I think you probably need to have some of the fat put back in under your sagging buttock and then coutour a few other areas. I would wait a full six months before doing any revision so you know exactly what you have before you re-operate.

Answer: Liposuction Results & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Sunken and contour deformities Your results are limited by poor surgical design which has left too much fullness over the lateral thigh/lower buttocks and not enough over the mid butt level which would have allowed your buttocks to reposition itself by tilting your pelvis; you also need to have Renuvion J plasma skin tightening of your lower buttocks and upper thighs to reduce skin redundancy. Any treatments with hyperbaric, RF, vanquish/etc. are only going to waist your money at this point and not get you the results that you are desiring.
