Would HIFU work for my double chin? (photos)

High-intensity focused ultrasound or HIFU is used to firm up loose skin. Ultherapy is the only HIFU device approved for this purpose in the U.S. The treatment is not targeted for fat reduction; therefore it is not effective for this concern. If you want to eliminate the submental fat under the chin, your best option is liposuction. Micro-cannulas are inserted into the fat deposits to remove the fat and leave a smoother contour under the chin. It is performed at the same time as the liposuction procedure.
I use the tumescent liposuction technique, which uses tumescent fluid to loosen fat cells for easier removal. The gentler treatment can be performed using local anesthesia and sedation if you choose. Recovery is typically just a few days. If you also have skin laxity to address, that can be taken care of using Ultherapy or another skin tightening treatment known as ThermiTight. This device uses radiofrequency energy delivered deeper into the dermal layers, treating more severe skin laxity than Ultherapy.

The first thing I would say is if you are considering HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) treatment, make sure it is Ultherapy. Otherversions are either not FDA-approved or too low power to do as much. Secondly Ultherapy/HIFU alone will probably not do enough - consider having some liposuction in the neck as well.

Liposuction of the double chin under local with the microcanulas will fix the neck and jawline so beautifully and quickly and easily.  Nothing else will come close so get it done today and enjoy the new you. Don't do hifu.
