Is it hard to lose weight after liposuction?

Thank you for your question.  It should not be any more difficult to lose weight following liposuction than it was prior to the procedure.  I have actually found that having liposuction for some of our patients have helped them jump start the weight loss process.  Liposuction itself is not a weight loss procedure, but rather one for body contouring isolated areas of stubborn fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Sometimes it takes a week or two to recover following extensive liposuction, so perhaps now may be the time to step up your exercise routine a bit and continue with a healthy, balanced diet. It shouldn't be more difficult to lose weight after liposuction. The best way to maintain optimal liposuction results or lose weight is to maintain a diet and exercise program.
