I read here full results from a lift can take up to a year. I just had midface lift & am not sure I'll get the results I want.

If you're talking about swelling and numbness this may indeed take a full year. However if you are seeing problems that the mid facelift was supposed to fix, it is unlikely these will get better. They might even get worse.

Full healing can take a good 6 months.  This means that you may have some residual swelling, numbness, discoloration for this period.  After a couple of months however you should have a pretty good idea of what you are going to look like.  If you have only a mid-face lift, this is really to lift the cheek fat and help with the upper part of the face and nasolabial folds.  It is not the surgery of choice for jowls, and won't do much if anything for under the chin and neck.  If these were concerns of yours pre-op you should have considered more of a full face and neck lift.  The lower area can be done once you have healed from the mid-face lift.
