Hi there. I’m a female, I’m 5’7 and I weight only 115 pounds but no matter what I do I cannot lose my belly fat or change the shape. I am honestly phobic of being put fully under anesthesia. Is there an option for some sort of body contouring in my case that I would not have to be fully sedated? or would a general anesthetia lipo be the best option for me? I want to remove excess belly fat and have a better shape.
Answer: Need examination At 5'7 and 115 lbs., your BMI is 18.4, which is underweight and you do not have much fat. This may not be fat at all. You will need to be examined to see if it is fat. The other alternative is a weak abdominal wall with protrusion of the abdominal contents. This is corrected by a tummy tuck. You may be a candidate for a mini tummy tuck where a small incision is used and the fascia is repaired below the umbilicus only. Liposuction only removes fat and you do not appear to have much fat. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Is there an option for non invasive lipo for belly fat? Hello and thank you for posting. You do nkt need general anesthesia nor do you need to fully sedated for a small liposuction procedure. We can do an epidural anesthesia similar to when giving birth plus light sedation. This is very safe and is the way most surgeons do this procedure. You are actually a great candidate for lipo and I don’t think you should be worried anesthesia. A virtual or in person consultation with your surgeon is a good idea so he can answer any questions you might have regarding safety and anesthesia.

Answer: 5'7", 115 lb. Is there an option for non invasive lipo for belly fat? Thank you for your question and photos. Based on these photos, you are an excellent candidate for VASER Hi Def liposuction of your abdomen using 1cm stealth incisions. As a Total Definer surgeon, I do these procedures under intravenous sedation and NOT general anesthesia. You need fat removed off your rib cage, upper and lower abdomen, waist and hips to give you an athletic, yet feminine figure. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck. BTW, there's no good non-invasive technique which can give you the same results as liposuction. There are many modalities used by some surgeons and non surgeons and medspas which will not give you the desired change and causes lots of internal scarring. I know this from personal experience and correction is more difficult.

Answer: Tummy Lipo Under Local Anesthesia Liposuction is the gold standard for hard to loose fat areas in abdomen, and generally provides excellent results. Based on your photos you appear to be a good candidate for liposuction, which would also be determined upon full exam and review of past surgeries, tests, etc. It is also very common to have this procedure done under local anesthesia. It is most important to find a place and a surgeon with the training and experience to help you get the results that you desire.

Answer: EPIDURAL ANESTHESIA Hello dear. VASER liposuction is an excellent, less invasive option for removing localized abdominal fat and improving body contour, especially for slim patients like you. This technique uses ultrasound to dissolve fat before extraction, allowing for a more defined result with less swelling, bruising, and a faster recovery. Instead of general anesthesia, we use epidural anesthesia, which numbs your body from the waist down without requiring you to be completely asleep. We also administer a mild sedative so you feel calm, relaxed, and comfortable during the procedure, free from pain and anxiety. You can contact us at 829-554-6062 for a more detailed evaluation.
