I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty 4 years ago and my nose has remained hard at the tip ever since. I was never told that this would occur and although it’s been a while it still bothers me that the nose is hard at the tip and you can’t push it down. Is there a way I can soften it? I had a netball accident in which my nose was broken hence why I needed a septoplasty to straighten the break, a rhinoplasty was also included to refine the tip a little I never wanted to change the look of my face/nos

Answer: Nasal firmness after surgery is probably due to cartilage grafting.
In general, when people require narrowing of the mid third of the nose, or the upper lateral cartilages, that may require osteotomies and bony work. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
In our experience, evaluation of Emailed electronic photos is as good as or better than a virtual consultation. We require an examination before committing to surgery so we can check the nasal airway, and get a good feel for the cartilage and bony framework of someone's nose. Hope this helps! Dr...
Generally, an examination is necessary to determine somebody's candidacy for rhinoplasty. If you want to get an idea of what might be possible, you would need to re-ask your question with photographs and describe what you don't like and what you are looking to achieve. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
