Can taking stitches out too early cause hypertrophic scarring and webbing? (Photos)

Question

I had an upper bleph and my stitches were removed the following morning. I now have hypertrophic scarring and webbing. I read that allowing wounds to heal without stitches can do that. I would appreciate expert opinions. Thanks so much.

having one after a blepharoplasty would be a result of your surgeon's technique, and if your wounds fell apart after the sutures were removed, this also contributed to this as there is more scarring when wounds healing in secondarily.  So you should point your concerns out to your surgeon and see what options are offered to you for fixing it as there are always things that can be done to resolve this.

Multiple factors may lead to scarring and webbing - placement and arc of the incision, type of stitch material, running versus interrupted stiches, early dehiscence after suture removal... Most surgeons would leave sutures in place for longer than one day. This can be repaired, but be sure you are comfortable with the planned procedure. Best wishes.
