On the 3rd day my eye completely closed. I have been using the eye drops but they have not helped at all. I am wondering if acuputure would help lift the eyelid back up?
Answer: Ptosis (droopy eyelid) following Botox You have a ptotic (droopy) eyelid because the muscle which elevates the lid was effected by the Botox. Often the Apraclonidine drops fixes the problem. Fortunately, the eyelid will elevate without treatment in a month. I do not believe acupuncture will help, although I have seen it work for Bell's Palsy. It may be worth a try. Good luck.

Answer: Eyelid droop after Botox The drops can help with ptosis after Botox, but it is unlikely that acupuncture will help. I don't think it will hurt, but since the muscles are paralyzed by the toxin, it will just take time for the effect to wear off. The good news is that it will go away and get better with each passing week. Best Wishes,Dr. Michelle SpringGlacier View Plastic Surgery

Answer: Eyelid droop after Botox It sounds like you have a ptosis. The eye drops will help but it can take some time for them to work. There was a recent study (have not been able to find the reference) that discussed resolution of ptosis about one month after the drops begin to elevate your lid and remedy the droop. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Acupuncture for droopy eyelid after Botox The muscle is paralyzed and acupuncture will not help it. If your eye is fully closed then the drops will probably not help either. Unfortunately, the only thing that will help is time for the Botox to wear off. This can take anywhere from 1-3 months. Sorry to hear this happened to you.

Answer: Botox Thank you for the question and sharing your concerns. I am not aware of any benefit of acupuncture in this situation. Hopefully, the eye drops will be of more benefit as the Botox effect wears off. The good news is eventually your eyelid drop should normalize, but it may take a month or more. I hope this helps!
