Will Botox fix hooded eyes, or do I need an invasive procedure? (Photos)

Hooded eyes need surgery if there is enough skin.  But radiofrequency like thermage or venus legacy/viva, fillers, and botox brow lift can really help contour the eye brows and lift the eyelid skin.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Botox can be used to elevate your eyebrows. This can pull up the skin from your upper eyelids, giving a more open look to your eyes. It is an easy first step to try prior to considering surgery. Good luck. 

When the outer brows are low Botox can assist in re-positioning them.  If the bones above the lids are prominent then eyelid surgery will not significantly alter the lid appearance nor will it raise the brows without having an additional brow-lifting procedure.  Hence, Botox along the crows feet areas, between brows and a bit in the forehead muscles will assist in balancing the brows and slightly opening the eyes.

Good question! Botox vs other treatment decisions depend on a good physical examination and skin-muscle eyelid and eyebrow anatomy. The muscle function should be measured to accurately assess the amount of lift in these cases. I would try some Botox first to see if your brows could be lifted in a non-surgical way. Skin tightening lasers such as Thermage can also be considered. If there is excess loose skin, you're better off having it removed/excised.

As you know, Botox can lift eyebrows by a few millimeters.  You have healthy, young skin, so it is definitely worth trying to see if you get an adequate lift.  People with older, inelastic skin may get enough of a lift, but the skin can look pulled. #botox

Another treatment that can help, and may be more appropriate given the shape of your brows, is to inject a hyaluronic acid filler to your brows and forehead, to increase their support and stop your brows hanging over your eyelids. This is an advanced level filler procedure that should be performed by an expert dermatologist or plastic surgeon, using blunt cannulas rather than needles. A third option is surgery if it's truly excess skin and not volume loss causing your brows to droop. I recommend you consult a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss all options.
