Hello, it has been 7 months or so since i had 1200 FUE transplant. the growth is pretty good, more then a few inches and I've had it cut several times. However, the hair is wavy and curly and my hair is not like this normally, also the scalp is bumpy. Is this normal and when can i expect my hair to act normal again and when will my scalp be smooth? I'm staring to become very concerned and regretting this whole ordeal. thanks,
Answer: Texture changes after hair transplantation. The texture changes and bumpiness after your hair transplantation is normal with this technique. The advantage of the Fleming Mayor flap is that the texture of the hair does not change, the hair does not fall out of have to regrow and has natural density. See a very experienced surgeon with this technique before having further transplants.

Answer: Maybe Sometimes transplanted hairs grow out kinky with a different texture. This happens when the grafts were not handled well by skilled technicians or medical group. It can happen with bad recipient sites (too big, too small, too tight, too shallow, etc) made by the doctor. It can also happen to certain individuals despite highly skilled technicians and doctors. If it happens to many patients from the same doctor on a consistent basis, then it's probably a technical issue (not your fault). In the end, you hairs may straighten out. It may not. Only time will tell. The bumpy texture on your scalp is likely scarring. This is also a technical issue versus an independent patient issue.Talk with your doctor for a recheck.

Answer: Wavy hair texture change after hair transplant- is this normal? Hello, Dr. George Abrahamian here from LA FUE Hair Clinic in Pasadena, CA. Generally, the texture with which your hair grows in the donor area, is the same texture with which it should grow in the recipient areas. So if the donor hair used is straight, the recipient area growth will also be straight. If beard hair was used, then the hair growth will be similar to how it grew in your beard. So on and so forth. However, there may be some factors that can contribute to the change in texture. If the grafts were traumatized during implantation, or if the recipient sites were created at inappropriate sizes, or with traumatic instruments, this can cause the texture to change to some extent. It may also be related to the way your body heals after the hair transplant, as the recipient area will develop scar tissue, even if it's not visible to the naked eye. The collagen in traumatized skin heals differently than non-traumatized skin, and the scar tissue that forms can cause kinks and bends to the hair follicles that are grafted, and as the hair grows from the bent hair follicle, the new hair will now have waves to it that correspond to the bends and waves that are caused by the scar tissue formation. This is generally out of the control of the physician, their team and out of your control as well, as we can not necessarily control how the body heals. However, this can be mitigated to some extent by using injectable anti-inflammatory steroids at the time of transplant, as well as using topical steroids after an appropriate time period after the hair transplant as well, as both of these can help to reduce the amount of scar tissue formation. There is also the chance that a year or more down the line after transplant, as the skin fully heals, that the texture can normalize. I hope this helps!

Answer: Curly hair after hair transplant It is not uncommon for the new transplanted hairs to be curly. Often these will straighten within three to four months.

Answer: Hair Transplant growing wavy in first few months Yes this could happen where the hair is wavy or a bit wiry. It will recover to its natural form with in time perhaps around 10-12 months. IN the meantime you can use good quality moisturising conditioner to manage the situation to your preferred styling
