Can Botox help with nostril flare?

Facial fillers like Voluma, Restylane, and Juvederm along with Botox can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose and lift the tip; however, it won't make the nose appear smaller. Surgery would be needed to improve the nostrils or overall shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Yes! Botox for a nostril fare is one of the lesser known areas that we treat, but is highly effective to stop the nostrils from flaring excessively. 

Hello Sunny:Yes, a tiny dose of one of the botulinum products, especially Jeuveau or Botox, can be injected in the nasal alar muscles to reduce the flaring of the nostrils. Botox can sometimes help with this if you are a good candidate.  This is a sensitive area and if injected incorrectly it could impact your smile.  I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon regarding your concerns.  I also recommend speaking with an ENT about your deviated septum.

Botox can be injected into the dilator muscles of the nasalis, and this will decrease the width of the nostrils when you smile or animate. However, it would be really important to get an in-person consult to evaluate the deviated septum and also the range of the flare. It usually only takes 2-4 units per side if you end up being a good candidate, and should last several months. Good luck with your treatment!
