Botox in masseter muscle top-up? (Photo)

There is no reason to get more Botox injections until you feel like you are ready for them, but I am starting to see a slight bulge in the masseter area, especially on the left. You are correct in the assumption that additional treatment will slim the lower face more, but a lower dose may be just the right solution. You may want to wait another 4 – 8 weeks until you can feel the hard bulge of the muscle and then try 7 – 10 units per side. This quantity should knock the muscle back down without excessive narrowing. It won’t last as long with a small dose, but why risk looking like an alien? An experienced dermatologist should be able to assess you an administer just the right dose. 

Hello and thanks for your question. Thats great to hear you had a good result from a relatively small number of units in the masseter. The best approach if you're worried about having an exaggerated effect would be to start with a lower number and work up- You can always add more botox but you cannot take it away. If you are still happy with the results of your treatment I would wait until you feel you need further treatment.  Typically the Botox effects wear off around 3 to 4 months, so you have gotten a lot of longevity out of your original treatment.
