Calf and ankle liposuction no results 6 weeks post opp?

I had liposuction on calves ankles and thighs 6 weeks ago. I see no change what so ever!!! The PS said he removed 3.1 litres of fat! My legs are still the same please advice what I should do!

The dredded "cankle" region take a long time to heal after liposuction. Keep the legs elevated as much as possible (still after 6 weeks) until about 4 months have gone by.  Then review the results.

At 6 weeks post liposuction of the legs, it is still pretty early to see the final results.  Give it more time.

Six weeks is very early to see the final result for calves and ankles.  However, this is technically a very difficult area to suction.  Sometimes, I have seen scar tissue form that can somewhat obscure the final result.  More typically it is from continued swelling and edema.  It is important to get this under control, since long-term lymphadema or swelling can progress to scar tissue.  I have been using hyperbaric oxygen therapy to reduce the swelling and scar tissue from lipo for the last six months, and believe that it is a useful adjunct.  Six weeks may be a little far out to try this, and it is certainly not the standard of care. I would encourage you to actively try to reduce the swelling with compression garments, walking, avoiding sitting or standing for long periods, and have found swimming particularly helpful for my lower extremity liposculptures.Good luck!Dr. Seare
