The knees are far enough away from the abdomen and buttocks that the electromagnetic field should not effect them. A hip replacement would be a contraindication, but not a knee replacement.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa Aesthetic Centers
Hi ivc,Most experts in the use of Emsculpt agree that it is safe to have the abdominals and buttocks treated in patients who have knee replacement since the electromagnetic waves do not travel far enough to heat metal implants in the knees. Good luck and be well.Dr. Persky
if you are looking for fat reduction i suggest collsculpting or truesculpt ID + Vanquish and EMSCULPT ongoing. these treatments need "forever" treatment to maintain results. EMSCULPT can be used in those with knee replacements but should be avoided in hip or back hardware. Best, Dr. Emer.
In general, EMSculpt should not be performed directly over areas where there are metal implants. The abdomen and buttocks should be safe to treat. I would recommend you find out exactly what type of implants were used for your knee replacement and then obtain an in-person consultation and evaluation with an experienced EMSculpt physician. Best wishes.
EMSculpt defines and sculpts. It does this by utilizing magnetic stimulation to cause muscular super contractions. It would not be an issue if you don't have any metal plates or implants in those areas. I would still confirm with your doctor to make sure.
Thank you for your question. A metal implant contraindicates with the use of Emsculpt. I would not recommend getting a treatment. Please make sure you get a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.
Hi, thank you for your question. Any sort of metal is a contraindication for the Emsculpt device. Therefore, you would not be an ideal candidate for the treatment. However, some physicians have been treating the abdomen area with patients who have knee replacements off label. Please seek a certified health care provider for more information.
Emsculpt is great for muscle toning and secondary fat burning for patients. If performed on the abdomen or buttocks, it is miles away from the knee so it is safe. Just stay away from treating near metal work.
In our practice we use EMSCULPT in patients with knee replacements but cannot use it in those with hip replacements or back hardware.
In general, metal can heat up if near the Emsculpt. If treating abs and buttocks, in my opinion, the electric field will not travel that far away from the area treated. I deem it safe to treat with knee replacement but not with hip replacement.
I would recommend either of the following 3 non-surgical options either alone or in combination: Secret RF (Microneedling with radiofrequency), Ultherapy, and PDO threads. Make sure you are getting treatment from a board-certified physician or other experienced health care professional.
EMsculpt is safe as long as you don't have any metal implants or devices. It will contract your muscles for you leaving you with the results of a workout. You can speak with your doctor to confirm that you are good to go for the procedure, but this should be fine!
EMSculpt defines and sculpts. It does this by utilizing magnetic stimulation to cause muscular super contractions. It would not be an issue if you don't have any metal plates or implants in those areas but titanium is a paramagnetic material that is not affected by the magnetic field. I would...
