Yes, you can get laser treatments after filler. Our office usually combines treatments on the same day. I recommend adding microneedling/prp to laser treatments to improve outcomes. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
That is a great question. In my experience, the laser should not affect your filler. If you wanted to steer on the side of caution you could do the filler and wait a week to do the laser treatment. But that is not necessary and you should not have any problems doing them on the same day.
If the filler has been placed deep under the skin, the laser should not affect it. It might however reduce prominence of the filler in more superficial areas, such as the lip boarder.Christian Drehsen, MD
Hello, and thank you for your question. We have routinely utilized a CO2 laser resurfacing following injectable fillers and have not found to be a problem. In many instances the laser penetration will not be deep to affect the fillers. You can discuss all of this with an experienced practitioner in your area. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question! You are able to safely tolerate a CO2 Laser after dermal fillers are performed. I would allow yourself two weeks time to heal post-injection prior to laser if you want to be extra cautious. I hope this is helpful to you!All the best,Dr. Todd Hobgood, MD
Fillers are generally placed in the deeper layers of the skin, beneath the skin, or in the deeper layers of the face. CO2 lasers generally treat the top half of the skin. That said CO2 lasers do generate heat which could potentially effect the underlying fillers perhaps causing them to dissolve or resorb quicker. For this reason we generally wait two weeks after fillers before performing any laser treatments which involve significant heat to the face.
Fillers are placed deeper than lasers penetrate. But as a safe practice and to avoid overdoing things, I generally do not do fillers and C02 fractional laser on the same day. I like to separate these procedures by a few weeks to gauge the result of one before starting another.
We also combine dermal fillers and laser resurfacing for enhanced results. I would see a board certified core physician for optimal results when combining two aesthetic procedures.
No, this will not effect your fillers as dermal fillers are placed in a deeper plane than the depth of CO2 laser. In fact a recent study shows that even energy based micro needling placed directly into HA fillers do not degrade the fillers clinically. So, all good. All the best, Dr Davin S .Lim, Brisbane.
