I did co2 laser resurfacing 8 weeks and the wrinkles on my upper lip have come back. Initial around 3 weeks they were gone and notice them coming back around 6 weeks. The whole reason I went through this terrifying process was for my upper lip. Any other treatments for that area ? And is this it or will they go away over time ?

Answer: Swelling after fractional CO2 laser Thank you for your question nsana13. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is an outstanding treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a single treatment. The treatment stimulates collagen production to improve wrinkles and fine lines. Collagen takes time to grow and results from this are seen 3-6 months after the treatment. Patience is important. Swelling also occurs for the first few weeks after a treatment. The swelling brings water into the skin which can temporarily lead to improvement in the appearance of wrinkles. Once the swelling resolves the appearance typically goes back to baseline until somewhere in the 3-6 month range when full results are seen. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
