My face is bery swollen. i look disfigured
Answer: Swelling from dermal fillers It is difficult to determine if this is normal swelling or a reaction to the HA filler. Sometimes this type of swelling is normal following the injection of several syringes of filler. Follow-up with your provider and discuss your concerns. Good luck.

Answer: Swelling after Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella)--Wait 2 weeks, reverse with hyaluronidase It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. Swelling can last 1-2 weeks after filler injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Swelling post filler injections Thanks for your question, eric0729. Swelling can be a normal part of recovery post-filler injection. Hyaluronic acid, by nature, is a "water-loving" compound, meaning it will pull water into the tissue to hydrate and plump itself. Normally swelling only lasts a few days, but some degree of swelling can remain up to 2 weeks. If you're having a complication, I always suggest going to see your injector for in-person evaluation and the formation of an action plan. This is likely something that he/she will have a protocol to help you through, whether it's measures to reduce the swelling (like icing, arnica, antihistamines, steroids, etc) or dissolving the filler if your symptoms warrant it. If you start to experience difficulty breathing or swallowing, nausea, vomiting, or fevers, that constitutes an emergency and you should seek immediate medical attention. Best of luck! Answer: Swelling after HA Swelling is common after fillers, I would allow 1-2 weeks before judging final results. It is also possible you may have had an allergic response to HA fillers; anti-histamines, short course steroids (prednisone), and icing will help alleviate symptoms. You can try a different kind of filler or collagen stimulator next time, such as Radiesse (Ca+ based) or Sculptra . Be patient. Best regards

Answer: Swelling after dermal filler Hello, For most people, swelling is a completely normal side effect of dermal filler and usually lasts a few days, although it can take a couple of weeks to complete settle. Simple things such as sleeping with an extra pillow to elevate your head, intermittent application of ice packs, and anti-histamines sometimes help but usually time is the best healer. Have you had hyaluronic acid dermal filler previously? Did you have any problems then? Can you share with us where on your face you had dermal filler and the quantities? Did you have topical local anaesthetic cream applied before your injections? Do you feel unwell? True allergic reactions to dermal filler would be rare but should be considered. Might be best to contact your doctor's office and let them know your experience so far as the treatment options could be different. I always prefer to hear from my patients if they are having any problems. Let us know how things go.
