Facial swelling after rhinoplasty post op 1 month. How long will this take to resolve?

It is unusual to have significant
facial swelling more than 1 week after rhinoplasty, but nevertheless, I am
certain that with time it will resolve assuming there are no other problems
going on. I would continue to follow up with your surgeon, and be patient. Best

Facial swelling after rhinoplasty is very
common. This swelling may lead to changes in smile and eye’s shape. The
swelling should subside about two months post op. You may want to reduce your salt
intake and also consult with your surgeon for specific treatments that can be
recommended.

The face can still appear swollen in the cheeks and smile lines after rhinoplasty particularly if the nostrils were narrowed (alarplasty). Your smile may also feel impaired due to the swelling present. This should resolve over the next 2 months. There are some techniques to speed up the recovery including sleeping with your head elevated, decreasing salt intake as Dr. Brennan has suggested, taking natural supplements like Bromelain and turmeric, and seeking out a lymphatic massage specialist for manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). The last resort would be a short course of steroids. I would check with your surgeon before starting any of these recommendations as each surgeon has their specific preferences.
