Does the CoolSculpting price vary by practice? Is it worth while to shop around (even travel) to get a better price?

I went in for a consultation for cool sculpting and was given a quote for 8k. I think it may have been for multiple cycles. I want to make sure I am not getting ripped off. How much per cycle?

Price will vary due to technique, skill and expertise. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, I recommend a combination approach. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative. Hi Rob. The bottom line with cosmetic treatments is you don't want to trust your face and body to the lowest bidder. Remember, the CoolSculpting machine is just a tool which can produce different results in different hands. We have had clients that have come to us after being treated elsewhere and ending up with lumps, indentations, and lack of results from poor applicator placement. They have often spent more money trying to fix these mistakes. I am personally involved with all CoolSculpting treatments at my practice. This is why we have grown to be one of the top providers in our area. Without seeing you it's hard to tell whether you were given an accurate treatment plan and price quote. Keep in mind that the CoolSculpting company controls prices to some degree and most often patients will need multiple cycles and rounds of treatment. The price of CoolSculpting does vary by practice and different physicians may have different treatment plans for treating the same patient.  I would say it is worthwhile to have more than one consultation so that you have more than one opinion and you could also compare pricing.

A question worth asking! There is a range of prices when it comes to Coolsculpting. Even other countries like Canada seem to be pricier than the United States, however your choice to travel for the procedure is up to you.  A practice can set the prices they want, ultimately if you are shopping around go with the practice you feel you're most comfortable with. They may not be the lesser priced but experience and confidence has a value all its own.

Hi Rob1701,Although the investment per cycle should not vary too much from clinic to clinic there could be a slight variation in pricing as each clinic has the liberty to establish what they charge for CoolSculpting. If you are treating multiple areas and were also quoted for 2 treatments, it is very possible that your investment is in the range of 8K.  Typically, the more cycles you do, the lower the investment per cycle. For example if someone were just treating their lower abdomen and only needed one treatment they would be looking at a higher per cycle cost but of course a much lower investment overall. If someone were going to have 12 cycles then their investment per cycle would decrease but the overall investment would increase. The investment per cycle could be as low as 600 per cyle or as high as 1500 depending on the type of applicator being used and of course the total number of cycles required for optimum treatment. My recommendation is to look for a practice with a lot of experience rather than the lower investment as ultimately, shaving off a few hundred dollars won't necessarily give you the best possible results. Success comes from proper mapping of the area to be treated and selecting the appropriate applicator for each zone.  If the clinic also has the cooladvantage (the newer applicator) and ZWAVE to enhance results, all the better! Thank you for your question.  We are a double diamond level CoolSculpting practice and have successfully completed over 20,000 procedures.  We are truly experts and only use registered nurses or nurse practitioners to perform this service.  The truth is that you get what you pay for.  Our prices are actually very competitive, but there are those who only have one CoolSculpting machine as compared with our 7 machines.  Some places use aestheticians as opposed to our highly trained and experienced registered nurses. You have to consider that this is a permanent change  you are making in your body, you don't want to take this seriously.  You will be living with the results for the rest of your life.   And, it is important to remember that  Zeltique, the parent company of CoolSculpting has a price control that does not allow practices to go below $400 per area.  If you were quoted $8000, I would imagine that you were told you needed to treat 20 areas. That would be 10 areas done twice.  $400 per area for 20 areas($8000 total) is the lowest price available by any reputable establishment. You would be getting a really great deal.  Why pay for travel expenses to go on a bargain hunt? This is your body, go to a serious provider that knows what they are doing.
