I had kybella injected 12 weeks ago I am still numb and extremely itchy is this normal. I also had Restylane injected under my eyes and it is still bruised and swollen...again this is12 weeks later

Itchiness and numbness following Kybella injections are known side effects and generally disperse within a few weeks. Restylane injections are also known to cause swelling and bruising that may last for some time. However, experiencing these side effects in full at 12 weeks is unusual and may be signs of an improper injection or adverse reaction.While these common side effects may improve on their own with more time, schedule anappointment with your injector to have them examined just to be safe. Be sure that yourinjector is board-certified before moving forward. Hope this helps!

At 12 weeks post kybella injections, it actually IS possible to still have numbness and itching. However, both of these symptoms should resolve. Most patients will experience them for a number of weeks. I would recommend that you see your physician that did the injections (as well as for the Restylane under the eyes). For the Restylane - from the photos - this looks like it should be looked at. The under eye area appears to be pretty swollen and not looking super wonderful (which is the opposite of what you want it to look like). It may be that it is just taking extra time for you - or that you need to have the area evaluated to see if something should be done. Hyaluronidase is an option.

While many patients experience numbness and some itchiness following a Kybella injection, the fact that you are experiencing these side effects 12 weeks after an injection is not normal.  I would recommend following up with your doctor to talk about the side effects you are experiencing.

Kybella is a product that works to dissolve fatty tissue. Myelin sheath which is the cell type that cover your nerve fibers is made up of fatty tissue. Hence, injections of kybella may cause some of those cells to dissolve and hence create some numbness. This will resolve typically within a few weeks and possibly a few months. Kybella is a great product for the right patient. It works really well if you have minimal submental fat and your skin is young, healthy and elastic.

I do Kybella every week in my office. Kybella and Restylane should not have side effects 12 weeks later like you are describing.  I would definitely consult your treating physician since it appears that you may have too much product injected under the eyes.  Please keep us posted.  Both Kybella and Restylane are wonderful in the right hands.
