Both Kybella or neck liposuction are good options and will improve the double chin. It depends on your lifestyle and personality which would be better for you. Kybella is best for patients that:1) Do not want surgery 2) Are not surgical candidates 3) Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 4) Patient- The results of Kybella will take monthsKybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Neck Liposuction is best for patients that:1) Want a single treatment 2) One recovery time- Downtime for neck liposuction require wearing a wrap around face for 1 week. 3) Less painful 4) Quicker results 5) Cost is a concernNeck liposuction is a quick surgical procedure that can be complete while the patient is awake. It cost around the same price a Kybella and can be less in patients with heavier necks. The single recovery of neck liposuction may be a better option for some patients.
Kybella, SculpSure and CoolSculpting can all be used to reduce fat under the chin. Kybella normally involves a series of treatments spaced over time and there usually is a significant amount of swelling after each treatment. I would say most people need somewhere between 3-6 treatment sessions. CoolSculpting and SculpSure can also be used and these normally require more than one treatment session as well. In my opinion, liposuction provides the best results, but the non-surgical options can lead to improvement. I would not say that there is one, best non-surgical option as they each have advantages and disadvantages.
Generally, local areas of fat under the chin can be improved by removing some of the fat under the chin area. This can be done easily with KYBELLA injections. Kybella can cause some mild to moderate swelling and requires at least 2-3 treatments to see a dramatic difference and you need to wait about 6 weeks between treatments. Another option for some patients would be liposuction, this will give you more immediate results with a single procedure but there is more swelling and bruising in the immediate after period. Sculpture and Coolsculpting work by heating or freezing the fat however these usually require even more treatments and may not be as permanent as Kybella or liposuction. For the best treatment options, it is important to visit an expert for an in-person examination. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic SurgeonIG: @drjohnsonlee
Thanks for your question and posting pictures. We have discontinued Kybella in our practice for melting submental fat. The FDA recently approved the SculpSure laser for treating submental fat (double chins). It is a quick 25 minute, completely non-invasive treatment. In the FDA study, the participants had 100% satisfaction after 1 or 2 treatments. If you look at the Kybella FDA studies, there is high satisfaction after an average of 6 treatments. I did SculpSure recently and it was only mildly uncomfortable. I had no noticeable swelling. With Kybella, you will have noticeable swelling for 1-4 weeks. Best of luck.
Yes, you can combine these 2 procedures but think that you would get a better result with chin and jawline liposuction than Kybella. Many of us who perform and offer both procedures get better results with liposuction. In addition, with liposuction the jawline can be improved giving you a ...
Swelling is normal and does not negatively impact results. Kybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, so...
The average length of time when Kybella was in clinical trials was 44 days, hang in there, it will get better.
This looks more muscular or anatomical (bone) than it is fat. kybella only works on fat. I suggest a formal consult to see if this can be helped, it may need a surgical option. However, there are many options for jawline contouring: 1) implants 2) fat or filler injections 3) botox for masseter ...
