Bumps after lip filler have been dissolved 5 times and no success - advice? (photos)

Question

I've had lip filler done not new to it been doing it since 2017, this past August went and had the procedure done as usual, well soon after I seen uneven bumps under my top lip! Well I've been trying to dissolve these bumps now for a bit with no luck!!! 5 times an not much of a difference the filler around is basically gone but not the bumps, not sure what to do!?

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. I think this is still retained dermal filler and should be injected with higher concentrations of hyaluronidase to restore your pre-filler appearance.

Many possibilities, if the filler was not hyluronic acid then there is no available products to really dissolves it and if the hyluronidase didn't inject to the exact location it also wouldn't work. And from repeated injection some local scar tissue can also form. I suggest you see a board certified plastic surgeon to examine this in person.

Unfortunately, we see more and more problems of this kind, in particular lips and around the eyes. Entire amount of filler is not always resorbed and, in some cases, it creates scar tissue which does not go away with injection(s) of enzyme or corticosteroid. Once this treatment proves unsuccessful, surgical removal of the lump may be indicated. Fortunately, scars on the lips are not much of a problem. I recommended consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
