I had restylane injected into my cheeks a few weeks ago. This morning I went to the chiropractor and laid on the table face down in the "doughnut" hole for my face. When I left my cheekbones hurt. They still hurt now about four hours later. I'm very worried that it is the restylane and that I did something to shift it or anything else related to the filler that could cause this soreness. I've been going to the chiropractor for years and never had this happen. I am very, very worried!

At 2-3 weeks the product should be settled into the tissues. You should not be concerned with any type of shifting at this point. This discomfort should only be temporary. If this problem persists contact your injector to have an in person evaluation. All the Best.

The restylane should be set by this point, and it is unlikely that you did anything to hurt the results. You may residual swelling from the treatment.  Contact your injector to have him or her take a look.

From your description, I can’t tell you whether or not it is related to the
product.   When laying on your face you might feel the product in an
usual spot of the face which can cause discomfort.  If that’s the case,
it’s  temporary and  is not an indication of any problem.

I do not think that you can do anything to harm your filler at this point nor do I think that you are having a problem with it. You might have some residual bruising that is being aggravated by that position. It should be fine. If you are not feeling better tomorrow speak to your doctor about it. Also, if the pain was deep within your face you might be having sinus pain.

There is probably some residual bruising from the filler that is causing this. This is nothing to worry about. I tell patients not to do this for a few days. You haven't done anything harmful, don't worry.

We tell patients to avoid facials or massage chairs for about 48 hours after getting filler injections. However, at 4 weeks out your Restylane is well set. The area may still have some underlying bruising or sensitivity, but your Restylane certainly didn't move. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
