The 1064 nm q switched laser will help with the tindel effect which is a slightly blue hue that is visible if the product is injected superficially. I do not believe it will remove the product, only the tindel effect. Best results will result from hyaluronidase, usually within 24-48 hours.
Best results for the tyndall effects is to actually have the product removed with a hyaluronidase injection. Lasers are great for removing pigment within the skin, the tyndall effect is the product injected too superficially. Speak with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in lasers and dermal fillers to obtain an accurate assessment for treatment. All the Best.
Hi Sc,We have have some success using Ultherapy under the eyes to facilitate the disappearance of filler under the tear troughs. Good luck and be well.Dr. P
Laser for Tyndall will not work. The problem is not pigment, the problem is clear gel (filler) that is reflecting back as blue through the skin. Hyaluronidase is safe and works within hours. I suggest using that. Best, dr Emer.
Tyndall effect from Restylane is corrected by dissolving the Restylane with hyaluronidase, not lasers. You also have potential eye risk using the q switch that close. There is essential no risk with hyaluronidase so I don't know your hesitation. This is yet another example of issues with tear trough injections. Please use something with a lot of experience doing thus area. Always use cannulas in my opinion.
Lasers or light treatments are attracted to discolorations and pigment. The issue with using a device like this for the Tyndall effect is that the discoloration is actually product put too close to the surface, and not just a pigment or discoloration issue. If it helped, it would be minimal and would take several sessions. I would much rather suggest you get hyaluronidase which is proven to work for this issue, and quickly. Pain following filler injection around the eyes in not typical, but it does happen from time to time. Usually the discomfort may be noticed after the first day or two and subside over the course of 3 or so days. It is typiclally due to the needle trauma to underlying tissues which is usually m...
This is called the Tyndall Effect and does not last permanently. It will gradually fade with time. You can consider hyaluronidase if you don’t want to wait.
Hi @joanne in Bowie. The Tyndall Effect occurs when fillers are placed too superficially. Hyaluronic acid facial filler products that were previously injected into an improper tissue plane can be dissolved by hyaluronidase injections. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
