Buccal fat removal side effects?

Buccal fat removal can lead to a more defined facial appearance, but it may have some long-term effects on aging. Since the procedure reduces fat in the midface, some patients may experience a faster appearance of signs of aging, such as skin laxity or hollowing, especially as natural fat loss occurs with age. The surgery doesn't affect glycogen levels in the face, but it could impact how the face ages due to the reduced volume. Skin laxity over time might become more noticeable as the natural support structure of the face diminishes with age.

Buccal fat removal, like any other plastic surgery procedure, is associated with side effects. It can indeed affect the appearance of the face, making it look older if the patient is not a suitable candidate for the procedure. This is especially common in patients with chubbiness of the lower face and no high cheekbones. However, buccal fat removal will not affect the glycogen ratio in the face, as the procedure exclusively removes excess fat from the buccal fat pad in the lower anterior face and does not impact the production or ratio of glycogen.

If you have full cheeks, then removing the buccal fat is fine. And, it's easy to replace volume in the face if necessary.
