I am at a healthy weight and am in my early twenties. I am considering buccal fat removal to get rid of my chubby cheeks. Am I a good fit for the procedure?

Young patients in their twenties with chubby cheeks and a healthy weight are usually candidates for buccal fat removal. The presence of chubby cheeks with normal healthy weight means their buccal fat pads are quite enlarged. These specific pockets of fat are very resistant to decrease in size with diet and exercise. They are also usually genetically determined to be large, especially in patients of Asian descent; buccal fat removal is the procedure that permanently removes the fullness of the face to achieve a more V-shaped facial appearance. In my practice, I customize the amount of fat to be removed to achieve the patient;s goals without looking sunken ( unless the sunken super model-like look is requested)

Thank you for the photos and your question. If you're self-conscious about your cheeks and feel that they're too full, buccal fat reduction might be an option. By partially removing tissue from the buccal fat pads, you can achieve better cheek definition. Based on your photos you do look like you would be a good candidate for the procedure.
