I had 360 lipo/bbl/mini tuck august 2021. I followed all of my doctors instructions exactly, but i still ended up with lumps. I take very good care of my body. I work out daily, eat well, sleep, and drink water. I wish i had never gotten this done. Is there anyone who can help me, or is this the end and I am stuck like this?

Answer: Liposuction results To make a quality assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see proper before and after pictures. If at all possible, consider trying to obtain before pictures. If your surgeon is still in practice, then contact them and see if they still have your pictures and ask them to forward them. Liposuction results should be considered permanent and irreversible. Correct thing poorly done. Liposuction is difficult and sometimes only partial improvement can be had at best. Should also recognize that any attempt at Revision Work can easily make things worse. Delivering consistent quality, liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons who have truly mastered this procedure or in a small minority. Most plastic surgeons things are better at Liposuction, and they actually are and there’s a substantial number of board-certified plastic surgeons with years of experience and overall good reputation for simply don’t do the procedure well. Liposuction results have more variation based on provider selection than any other plastic surgery procedure I’ve ever seen. For these reasons, I suggest patient be very selective when it comes to choosing providers. I suggest patients of multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons before choosing any permanent irreversible body contouring procedure. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their entire portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients with similar body characteristics to your own. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 15 previous patients. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results on the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of an average results look like in the hands of each provider, or how many of these procedures they’ve actually done. There’s no correct number of consultations needed to find the right provider. The more consultations patients have the more likely they are to find the best provider. Considering how much variation there is a Liposuction skills I suggest patient start the process by having at least five in person consultations before scheduling surgery. The time to be critical plastic surgeons is during the consultation process before you have the procedure. I recognize that at this point already has the procedure. The process of finding providers for Revision Work is more or less the same as it is for Primary procedures. The ability to improve poorly done Liposuction results depends upon your initial candidacy for the procedure and how the first procedure was performed. The hardest cases are individuals who were aggressively over treated, leaving them with very little back to work with that is also uneven. Attempt at improving poorly done. Liposuction generally comes down to Revision Liposuction(taking out more fat), fat transfer or a combination of both. You’re fat transfer is going to be used as a technique then you need to vet the provider for their skills in both Liposuction and fat transfer. Fat transfer is only going to be partially successful because the areas that need fat restored now have virtually no post tissue to support the grafted fat. To get a significant improvement may require a few separate staged treatments. As I mentioned, earlier attempts and revision could easily make things worse so the importance of provider selection becomes the number one variable patients should focus on. There are no non-surgical options that can correct a previously done procedure that permanently removed your fat. If you’re motivated enough to have more surgery, then the next step is finding the right provider. I highly recommend avoiding virtual consultations, and having a significant number of consultations to make sure you find the right provider. Anybody who claims that this can easily be fixed, especially using the technology of some specific device should probably be avoided. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
