Can my nuvaring contraceptive cause discharge out of my nipple and areola? (photos)

I have implants and I have discharge from my nipple and areola (left breast), this has been going on for 6 months now, my question is can my nuvaring be the cause of this problem?

Yes, your Nuva ring can cause hormonal changes which can cause you to be lactating.You should discuss with your Plastic Surgeon or Primary Care Physician.

This is a question best left to be answered by your gynecologist. Changes in hormone levels can affect nipple discharge and the Nuva-ring may be responsible but best to always ask the doctor in charge.

Nipple discharge, particularly of six months' duration, should be worked up to rule out underlying problems, whether hormonal or of other etiology.  You should bring this to the attention of your gynecologist who can make the appropriate referrals.
