Are braces okay during breast aug?

HiHaving braces should not preclude you from having breast augmentation. Some plastic surgeons may ask that you avoid invasive dental procedures shortly before and after the surgery. Thank you for your question.  It is safe to undergo a breast augmentation if you have braces in place.

Many patients have surgery wall they were wearing braces. There is no problem with that anticipating breast augmentation or any other operation.

Many of our patients have braces during and after Breast implant surgery. Antibiotics should be given with dental work if you have Breast implants though.

Braces won't cause a problem for your planned breast augmentation. Retainers or other removable oral appliance will need to come out during surgery. Good luck. 

Thank you for your question.  No, braces should not be a problem.  External piercings are at risk for an electrical arc that could cause a burn on the adjacent skin.  This would not be an issue with braces or for that matter internal metal such as a metal plate or screws from a prior broken ankle.
