So I have multiple fibroids. I was told I have to do a hysterectomy and have my hernia repair. I have 4 kids. one of my pregnancy was with twins. So am pretty much stretch out with strech marks. Since am getting cut open. I think it would be the best time to get it done. I do not want to be cut twice. Is there a doctor out there that can perform this procedure. Or would I need a GYN and a plastic surgeon to do both procedures. I would love to hear from someone. Thanks T
Answer: Make sure you use a plastic surgeon for the plastic surgery portion My 2 cents: I have seen too many obstetricians attempting to do the tummy tuck portion so that they can make extra money at the same time as their portion. However, do not be fooled by this, they are not trained to do a tummy tuck so leave that in the hands of a board-certified plastic surgeon only.Best of luck! CONTACT NOW Answer: Combined stomach procedures Thank you for your inquiry. Often times the two procedures can be done at the same time. The ob/gyn will do the hysterectomy and the plastic surgeon can do the hernia repair and tummy tuck. There are circumstances where this procedure cannot be done all at once. It is best to discuss with your doctors to see if you are a candidate for everything at once. Good Luck!

Answer: Combo cases with tummy tuck Thank you for your question. These procedures can be combined safely in the right patient. You will need a gynecologist for the hysterectomy and possibly a general surgeon for the hernia as well as a plastic surgeon for the tummy tuck. It will take some coordination and planning but could be done. Good luck.

Answer: Tummy tuck Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. It is certainly possible to have these procedures combined together in the same setting. You will have to find a OBGYN and plastic surgeon who can work together. If you are an appropriate candidate for a tummy tuck, this can be done through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line. The belly button can be designed to look natural and have no scars on the exterior. Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
