Four months is a bit long to have significant swelling and tenderness.  Usually at the four month mark there is only a slight amount of residual swelling, but not significant tenderness.  Keep wearing your compression garments and visit with your surgeon.Best of luck!

This is not uncommon and can be from diet and exercise changes after surgery as well as fluid retention from swelling. If concerned, review with your surgeon.

Thank you for your question.  Weight gain after surgery is typically associated with fluid administration and postop swelling.   The length of time that swelling persists can be in the 4-6 month range and longer in some people with other medical conditions or hormonal issues.  If you become very active during the healing period, this can also worsen swelling. The good news is that if it is swelling, it wll go away in time.  It sounds like you are doing everything you can with diet and exercise already.  Try not to focus on the scale which can fluctuate wildly due to fluid retention, muscle gain, etc. and focus on your body contour and how your clothing fits.  Best wishes on your recovery.
