Hello...the answer is as soon as possible. Smoking will harm your results. You will lose fat if you smoke. Even after several months...if you resume smoking...you will lose fat. But the good news is you should still keep your overall shape from the liposuction...so its not a total loss.Dr P

I have my patients stop smoking at least 2-4 weeks prior to surgery and to remain off of them for several weeks after or until they healed.
