Hello I had illegal butt injections about 5 years ago. I have had no problems with the injections THANK GOD & they actually look really good. However, I would like to under go a fat transfer ( BBL ) & I wanted to know if it was safe to transfer fat into my buttocks with already having the injections. I know I would have to gain weight in order to under go the procedure but I just wanted to know if I can do it with having these injections without complications. PLEASE HELP. Thank you.
Answer: Fat transfer after gluteal injection The basic concepts of concern have been well dressed. The foreign substance will not allow grafted fat to get revascularized leading to a higher percentage of graft loss. Depending on what percentage of your total gluteal volume is filler versus your own tissue would help determine the success rate of a fat transfer. As well, should you be contamination in an infection foreign substance will get contaminated which can lead to a catastrophic situation. Because the previously placed fillers are diffusely placed throughout your buttocks bacteria can travel along the surfaces of the previously placed fillers. If the picture posted is of your own butt then adding volume with the Brazilian it’s perhaps not the best choice. This is especially true if you need to gain weight for the procedure. Should you have this procedure you will most likely do fine. Most plastic surgeons are more than familiar with the “the enemy of the good perfect”Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
