Medicaid pay for Forehead Lift?

hi doctor im 18 years but my forehead skin and brow was sagging too much that affects to my eyesight and affects my life now i want to have a brow lift surgery to reconstructive so does medicaid cover for brow lift surgery

Medicaid does not pay for browlifts. It may pay for an upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) with fully documented obstruction of vision. In general, 18 year-olds don't have eyelid skin that hangs that low. I wish you the best.

Medicaid does not cover any sort of plastic surgery. Most insurance companies do not cover plastic surgery either.

Obviously, Medicaid does not and should not pay for cosmetic procedures.  Circumstances whereby a browlift would be indicated for visual field purposes in an 18 year old would be highly unusual.  In fact, I have yet to see such a case.  Lastly, the reimbursement the Medicaid might offer for such a procedure would likely be less than it would cost the Surgeon to perform the procedure in most cases.

This really depends on where you live, the type of insurance you have and how bad the brown sagging (Ptosis) is influencing your vision. Here in Ottawa, Canada, in cases like yours I would have you seen by an ophthalmologist (eye specialist) to determine if the brow ptosis is causing you to loose some of your field of vision. If so, and to a large enough extent, it may be covered under either private or government plans. Best to check with your surgeon or family physician in these cases.

Medicaid will not pay for a brow list as it does not feel that the procedure is medically necessary. You may get some coverage of an upper blepharoplasty if you meet the requirements and have proper documentation.

It is so highly unusual to have such a severe drooping of the brow to interfere with vision in an 18 years old. It is common to use cosmetic techniques for reconstructive purposes. But this has to be documents and studied very well if one is to expect the insurance to pay for such procedure. We should not expect insurance companies to pay for cosmetic surgery. This is true for many reasons, social (so that insurance will be there when one needs it), legal and honorable practice of medicine.
