Will anyone give a BBL if the patient has had Staph previously?

if you have complete medical clearance and you are infection free then there should not be a problem performing your surgery especially if  prophylactic coverage of any potential all infections. Good luck 

Hello and thank you for your question. As long as you have no active infections a BBL should be safe. You must take extra precautions prior to surgery such as Bactroban ointment  nasal swabs and chlorhexidine showers for about two weeks prior to surgery. The real question is has there been resolution of the symptoms and signs of infection at the surgical sites and whether there any other reservoirs harboring the bacteria.

Thanks for reaching out.  I would consider it safe to proceed, given that your infection is completely resolved. I would consider putting you on antibiotics for a few days before and after your surgery.  I would also have you shower twice a day for two days before surgery with hibeclens antibacterial soap.I hope this helps :)

If you had a previous infection it should not prevent you from having a bbl if you do not have an active infection.
