My palate expander is making my teeth crooked? (photos)

I have recently gotten my braces in the last month, and I just got my palate expander two weeks ago. I had an expander and teeth removed when I was around 9, and my jaw became wider. I have been cranking my expander 2x once a day and I've noticed my two front teeth are becoming crooked and loose? It's scaring me and my teeth are getting worse every day! Help?

Yes, it is normal for front teeth to get loose with an expander.  A lot of times, a gap will open between the front teeth as the expansion happens.  This may not happen in your situation since you have braces on also.  The expander widens your JAW, while braces move TEETH.  If you have concerns, ask your orthodontist.Good Luck!

Because maybe you put too much force or maybe the arch inside the braces are causing this problem. Ask your ortho if it's normal to use braces and expander at the same time because. usually braces work after the expansion
