There have been many studies done to determine whether a non-dentist notices the midline being off. There is actually a pretty big range before it is noticed or commented on.&nbsp;Midlines are a little harder to fix, sometimes teeth are different sizes and shapes and they may not be perfect. As an Orthodontist, mine are slightly off but nobody has ever commented on it.&nbsp;

My orthodontist has just informed me I will be getting my braces off within a month if everything goes well. I have had my braces for 3 yrs and my teeth were really not that bad..besides the point... My dentist has spent more than a yr perfecting my midline but its still off to this day if you ask me. Ive heard people tell me its not a big deal while others say it has to be perfect. My midline was perfect before my braces.

Yes, it would be better to take care of the cavities first. Even though they may not bother you, they can continue to grow and eventually cause much worse problems (which can be much more costly in the long run). I totally understand that you want to have straight teeth and a beautiful smile&nbsp;but it is very important&nbsp;to also make sure your teeth are healthy.

I want Invisaligns so I can prefect my smile. The only issue is I have pre-existing cavities (like 5). I've had them for YEARS now, and they don't bother me. If I HAVE to get them filled before the Invisalign treatment that would be determential because I simply can't afford to have them filled and pay for my braces.

Is it possible to get Invisalign without having existing cavities filled?

I understand it must be very frustrating to get different opinions! First of all, just take&nbsp;comfort in that they all recommended Invisalign treatment. Beyond that,&nbsp;different doctors may have different personal preferences. Some doctors do not like to use Invisalign express because it does not offer as much flexibility as the full Invisalign treatment -- there are more limitations in the number of trays allotted. Some doctors like to spread out the movement over more trays, which does not work logistically with Express treatment. Also, if there are bite issues, this takes time to correct with the elastics -- it is not something that happens over night.&nbsp;It would also require more trays, beyond the amount of Express.&nbsp;
At the end of the day, choose who you feel most comfortable with as your Dr. to guide you through this process.&nbsp;

Had 3 consultations, how are they so different? Advice?! (had braces previously but teeth have shifted) 1)Ortho #1(preferred): InVisalign Express(no xrays or pics but has records since they were original ortho 15 yrs ago) 2) Dentist(preferred) - did not think Invisalign Express (I asked), depends what ClinCheck says &amp; tweak he makes(pics, xrays &amp; impressions sent off) 3) Ortho #2(Elite): 21 months(12 months + 9 months refinements), elastics part way through (he did 2 diff xrays, pics &amp; exam)

Yes, clear aligners would help to bring those top front teeth back. You may be able to do just the top only if there are no concerns with the bottom, however sometimes it is best to do both to get the proper bite established. Your doctor will be able to do a thorough exam and give you a better estimate on how long it would take.&nbsp;

I'm thinking about getting braces, But I've been looking into alternative options like a inman alinger, mtm aligner, 6 month braces. I recently got my wisdom teeth removed back in the spring so I can have more space for the other teeth. I notice that the two front teeth on the top and the bottom are pushed forward and the rest of my teeth are straight. But I wanted to know would I be able to get straighter teeth with the alingers? I am not looking for completely straight teeth, just straighter.

From your photos, it does appear that Invisalign would be a great option for you. Invisalign progressively moves the teeth little by little over time. I&nbsp;think you would see the canine teeth come down faster with braces, but ultimately you&nbsp;will get the same end result.
You should definitely get a consult from an Orthodontics specialist to determine what treatment options are best for you. I think you will be extremely happy with the outcome!

Would clear aligners help straighten my teeth, which are tragically overcrowded? My canines (3rd teeth) are severely pushed upwards, while my lateral incisors (2nd teeth) were pushed backwards, by my canine &amp; front teeth. My lower teeth aren't too overcrowded, but a few haven't grown straight, to their full potential due to my teeth being overcrowded. I was trying to avoid getting braces my entire life. Would getting clear aligners work just as effectively to achieve my desired, straight teeth?

In general, it is best for the tray to feel "loose"&nbsp;before you move to the next one.&nbsp;However, it is not common for the tray to start to feel tighter all of a sudden.&nbsp;I&nbsp;would express your concerns with your Dr. and maybe you can go in for a quick exam to make sure nothing else is going on.&nbsp;

I'm almost at 2 weeks wearing my first set of aligners and over the past couple days it feels like my trays are getting tighter. The bottom trays is really difficult to remove now. At the back it pops right out the it's very tight on my front teeth. I wear my trays about 21 hrs/day on average. Should I keep wearing this set until the bottom tray loosens up at the front?

Why are my trays feeling tighter at the end of 2 weeks?

The cost of braces depends on many factors, including the estimated length of treatment, degree of difficulty, etc. An Orthodontic specialist can do an exam and consultation&nbsp;for you and give you a better idea of your treatment options and cost.&nbsp;
Depending on the type of insurance you have, you may be able to get a "discounted rate" and/or a one-time maximum benefit towards treatment. There are a few different kinds of insurance plans and some do have a waiting period before it applies to braces -- make sure to ask alot of questions!
Also, most Orthodontists offer in-house financing with 0% interest. Usually you have to make some sort of down-payment and then the remainder can be broken up over the length of your treatment.&nbsp;Some offices also offer care Credit.

Without photos it is hard to make a treatment recommendation, but I&nbsp;would always recommend a consultation with an Orthodontist. At this appointment they will take photos, x-rays and do a dental exam. At this point, you can find out your treatment options. There is also an option called Invisalign that may be perfect for your concerns.&nbsp;It can be very effective in most cases and you have total control. That being said, it only works if you wear it.
Many orthodontists provide free consultation appointments as well.

My two front teeth are both slightly crooked (both by different degree) &amp; I also have a gap between them (1/4 cm by gums &amp; 1/2 cm at bottom). I'm on a smaller budget because my family's insurance will not cover it &amp; we don't have much money to spend. I have anxiety &amp; am VERY uncomfortable with the thought of braces on my teeth 24/7 for an unknown amount of time. I understand they must be fixed &amp; will take time but want something I can control/take off if I'm having pain or discomfort. Please help!

What Are my Options Besides Traditional Braces? (16 Year Old Girl)

It is totally normal for the tray to start to feel loose on the 4th or 5th day. Basically this means that all of the movement that was built into that tray has been expressed. This is a great sign! If you change trays too frequently and all of this movement is not achieved, then eventually some of the teeth may stop "tracking"&nbsp;or fitting properly in the tray. This is something that you may not feel in the next few trays, but eventually there may be some teeth that are falling behind in the prescribed movements.&nbsp;
Your doctor would know best whether you are able to move on to the next tray any sooner.

I started invisalign treatment this year. I am on my 14th tray(out of 40). I have been changing them every 5 days as advised by my doctor. I use acceledent as well. I haven't heard a single reason yet on this forum as to why I can't change them sooner. I find trays starting to feel loose on the 4th or 5th day. If the next tray fits me fine, then why should I continue using the previous one any longer ?

Can I change Invisalign trays in 3 or 4 days, if the next tray fits me fine?

Most patients who go through Invisalign treatment do undergo some "filing" or what I&nbsp;usually call "polishing" between the teeth in order to create the necessary space to line them up.&nbsp;It is usually a minimal amount and you would barely even notice.&nbsp;The gap would be closed entirely. If no space is made, the teeth are forced to push forward and would be sticking out more.

Hi, a couple years ago I had the six month smile braces that made a wonderful difference to my teeth. However the front tooth is still very slightly crooked and I was told that it couldn't be straightened anymore. However I've switched dentists as I've moved, and was told today that I could get clear aligners that would straighten it completely, all they'd have to do is file it a little bit to create a small gap so it can be straightened. But im worried I'd be left with a gap. Any advice?
