I've had lip filler approx 10x over 5 yrs. The first was voluma which gave a great result. Since then I had juvaderm or restalyne. I've always gone back to correct natural asymmetry in my top left lip (it is smaller than the right). Today, my top lip appears like filler has moved above the lip line, creating a a shelf look from side profile. I recently had filler dissolved to help. What can I do to bring my lip shape back to normal? I still want full lips. Is there a type of filler/technique?
Answer: Lip lift You have been doing fillers for approximately 5 years. As you know, fillers are temporary. You will need a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. The procedure takes 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia and costs $4,000. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Correcting lip asymmetry You know the saying, "beauty is in the eyes of the syringes holder"? That couldn't be more true than in this situation. Way more important than the product you use is who injects it. Most hyaluronic acid filters today are similar depending on which category they're in, so for example RHA3, Versa Lips, Restylane Kyss, Juvederm Ultra, are rather similar. What makes the difference in results is who's injecting. My suggestion is to do your research, and look through doctors websites and their before & afters to feel comfortable where you're going for treatments.

Answer: Lip fillers From the submitted photos it does appear that the lip filler has migrated. You can target that shelf look that concerns you and have the filler dissolved. You can then begin again to create the look you are wanting. Always see an expert injector for treatment.

Answer: Lip Filler Correction: Restoring Shape and Fullness Safely and Effectively When dealing with lip filler issues, especially regarding shape correction, it's crucial to approach the situation carefully to achieve the desired outcomes. Here are some steps and considerations to help restore your lip shape while maintaining fullness: Consult with an Experienced Injector: Seek a qualified and experienced injector, preferably a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon, who specializes in lip augmentation and correction. They can assess your specific situation and recommend the best course of action. Consider Dissolving Remaining Filler: If the filler has migrated above the lip line, as you mentioned, it might be beneficial to dissolve any remaining filler completely before starting fresh. Hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve hyaluronic acid-based fillers like Juvederm and Restylane. Choose the Right Filler: After dissolving the existing filler, discuss with your injector about using a filler that offers more precision and control. Products like Restylane Kysse or Juvederm Volbella are often recommended for their flexibility and natural-looking results. Technique Matters: The technique used by the injector is as important as the filler itself. Techniques such as the micro-droplet or linear threading can help achieve a more symmetrical and natural look. Consider Lip Lining: Sometimes, combining filler with subtle lip lining techniques can help redefine the lip border and enhance symmetry without creating a shelf-like effect. Gradual Approach: If symmetry and shape are major concerns, consider a gradual approach where filler is added over multiple sessions. This allows for adjustments and more precise control over the final appearance. Follow-Up Care: Ensure you follow any post-procedure care instructions provided by your injector to minimize swelling and ensure the best results. Ultimately, communication with your injector about your goals and concerns is key to achieving the best possible outcome.

Answer: Yes! Technique and filler matters Absolutely, I understand your concern, and it must be frustrating to have had to resort to dissolving previous fillers with hyaluronidase after several years of adjustments. Waiting for your lips to recover for at least three weeks would be the best approach, as adding more filler to already swelled lips with migration issues could exacerbate the problem. I'd recommend our proprietary Lip Renaissance technique for cases like yours. This customized approach tailors different techniques and fillers to individual anatomy and aesthetic goals, focusing on achieving balance and harmony. For restoring your lip shape and maintaining fullness, we might use a combination of Restylane Kysse for softer, more natural fullness and Restylane Lyft or Contour for precise shaping and structure, especially effective in correcting asymmetry and addressing specific concerns like the 'shelf' appearance. Our Lip Renaissance technique is designed to redefine the vermilion border and provide targeted enhancement to areas like your top left lip, ensuring the filler complements your natural lip structure without overwhelming it.
