Is it possible to have permanent filler for hand rejuvenation?

(Like aquamid) or the like? Seems to me like it would be a lot less risky in the hands rather than the face, am I wrong?

Hi and thank you for your question! Although it is quite tempting to get a "permanent" filler, I am not a big fan of that. Remember that our body is not always in the same state and shape either - there is nothing permanent in our body! So when you inject a permanent filler, it might look good today, but we can't tell how it will look 2, 5 or 10 years later. Unfortunately when it comes to anti-aging and rejuvenation treatments, there is no magic bullet or one-time treatment that fixes everything in one shot. Just as aging is an ongoing process, anti-aging treatments also require continuous commitment to be most effective. For hand rejuvenation, in case you are interested in a longer-lasting filler, I highly recommend Radiesse. It is not permanent, but it will last a good few years. I hope it helps and good luck!

I encourage you to explore Renuva!  This treatment is different than traditional fillers.  Once injected the product is gradually replaced by your body's own fat cells.  Over a few months you will notice an improvement in volume and a more youthful appearance to the hands.  The results are longer lasting since it is your own fat. Thanks for your question. I would not recommend the use of any "off-the-shelf" permanent filler.  If you are looking for lasting results, you should consider autologous fat grafting to your hands.  This involves the transfer of your own fat cells.  Although the results are a little less predictable than other products such as Radiesse, the results are permanent.  I recommend seeing a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.   Best of luck!

I like to use Radiesse- although not a permanent filler it does a wonderful job filling volume and does promote biostimulation of collagen- and is FDA approved which is most important.  Other longer term options could be Bellafill- which would be off label use and there is no data available for hands as of now. For skin improvement, IPL and laser resurfacings are wonderful options.

I do not recommend "permanent" fillers to the hands.  Any elective cosmetic procedure to the hands should protect  and minimize risk to hand function.  The safest option for a durable result is the use of one's own fat using a technique of micro-fat grafting.  In order for the grafts to take, the hands require soft immobilization for 2-3 days.  The fat is durable for several years, although results vary from client to client.  I hope this answer helps.
