Swelling after chin lipo/lift- 1 week post-op.

Keep in mind that it takes 6 months to see the full results of face liposuction. It is perfectly normal for you to be experiencing different degrees of swelling throughout your healing process. Swelling can be asymmetrical and feel lumpy at times. Be patient, and the swelling should resolve and any loose skin should tighten up on its own.    If you are still concerned, I recommend following up with the surgeon who performed our procedure

Thank you for your question. It is far too soon to be concerned about swelling. I always have my patients wear a compression garment 24 hours a day for the first 7 day, but all physicians are different. The full effects of chin liposuction are not truly appreciated until about 6 months after the procedure. Dear hanban100I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a liposuction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.
Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.
At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS

Hello dearThanks for the question and provided information as well.  Swelling is normal at this phase of the healing process, be patient, it will go down in few weeks, i recommend my patients use the bandage to give more compression to the area. Good luck :)

Swelling will resolve in due course. You will have to be patient until that time which can be several weeks to months. It is gradual. Best

Its best to follow up with your operative surgeon to determine the cause of the swelling.  The swelling itself can be  caused by a variety  of issues such as a hematoma, seroma, or just normal postoperative swelling.  In our practice,we rarely use compression dressings after a neck lift, we use drains
