I had chin lipo/lift one week ago. I am worried as I feel it looks worse than before! It looks saggy and bigger but I’m hoping this is still due to swelling. I was told I didn’t need to wear a compression bandage at all...has that ruined it?! I’m scared it’s worse! Will it get better?!
Answer: Results after Chin Liposuction Keep in mind that it takes 6 months to see the full results of face liposuction. It is perfectly normal for you to be experiencing different degrees of swelling throughout your healing process. Swelling can be asymmetrical and feel lumpy at times. Be patient, and the swelling should resolve and any loose skin should tighten up on its own. If you are still concerned, I recommend following up with the surgeon who performed our procedure I hope this helps!

Answer: Swelling After Chin Lipo Thank you for your question. It is far too soon to be concerned about swelling. I always have my patients wear a compression garment 24 hours a day for the first 7 day, but all physicians are different. The full effects of chin liposuction are not truly appreciated until about 6 months after the procedure. At this point, discuss your concerns with your provider, and be patient-the results will happen. Best of luck.Hope this helps,DrC

Answer: Swelling after liposuction Dear hanban100I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a liposuction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
