Can the strain of vomiting damage juvederm lips? I noticed sudden onset bruising after an episode of vomiting 14 days post injec

Is it possible I could have broken blood vessels while straining while vomiting? I got juvederm xc 1cc injected into lips 14 days ago. Tonight I had an episode of vomiting and I noticed that my lips were becoming purple and developing bruises. Should I be concerned?

Thank you for your pictures and questions. An exam would be necessary to make a proper assessment. However, at 5 days after the injection, I would presume that you still have some swelling present that is leading to the sensation. You could try some light massage to see if this helps. I would recommend waiting at least a week after your Juvederm cheek filler before having a better idea of your results.  It is not unusual to have swelling for a few days after the injection and your swelling will improve with more time.

Swelling, bruising and tenderness can be typical. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps!

This looks like bruising. Icing and arnica may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps!

No, sun exposure won't negatively impact your results. It can take up to 2 weeks for final results. I do recommend using full-spectrum sun protection. Hope this helps.
