Is it possible I could have broken blood vessels while straining while vomiting? I got juvederm xc 1cc injected into lips 14 days ago. Tonight I had an episode of vomiting and I noticed that my lips were becoming purple and developing bruises. Should I be concerned?

I'm sorry you had this sudden vomiting episode followed by lip bruising.  If your lips were not bruised before you had this episode of vomiting it's not likely that the Juvederm caused the bruising.  It's more likely you may have bruised your lips while biting or such during your episode of vomiting.  It's best to discuss this with your doctor to ensure you're doing well.

Hi, the bruising is unlikely from juvederm since its been 2 weeks (if you had no bruising in bwtn). Possibly its more from the force of vomiting or biting on the lip by accident.  Best, Dr. Thuy Doan.
