What could be causing dimpling on my breast 2 years post op? (photos)

Question

So I havd my augmentation done 5/25/22. That fall I could I was pregnant with my second baby. I had him and breastfed until about 11/2023. This week, I have noticed that I have dimpling below both nipples on my areolas. Fat necrosis, injury, cancer?? Not sure what I could’ve done to be injured but wondering what someone thinks I should do. Have you seen this in a postop before?

Very likely this may be result of breast atrophy after breast feeding. However, malignancy should not be excluded; a mammogram should be your next step. Good luck.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Nothing replaces an in-person examination and review of photographs prior to, and after, your initial augmentation, but it appears with the changes associated with pregnancy that your natural breast tissue has sagged over the front of the implant and is resting a bit lower than it previously did. This is referred to as a waterfall deformity or snoopy nose deformity.  This can be improved upon but would require surgery with a breast lift.  Seek out consultations in your area for the best advice.

This is most likely from the changes as the breast adjusts after breastfeeding cessation.  However whenever there are unexplained changes to the breasts it's always best to check with whomever you see for breast health to rule out any concerns.

With pregnancy and breast feeding, your breasts were larger, but now have shrunk down some. What you see is from some excess skin that is left over.  If need, go be checked to make sure nothing else, like a tumor, has developed.

This is most likely due to mild skin laxity and atrophic changes that happen to the breast following pregnancy and breast feeding. The easiest way to improve is with a vertical mastopexy or in some instances fate transfer to the breasts.

Based on your posted, photos in your history, this most likely is some breast tissue, involution or melting after breast-feeding and stopping breast-feeding. Best to see your original surgeon in person and request a ultrasound mammogram if both or either or negative options could be crafting dented under nipple areas under local anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation. Again best to do virtual consult or see original surgeon. Expect fees to range from $1000-$2500
