Can Ellacor replace a lip lift ? (3mm or more of shortening)

Question

Ive been seeing doctors comment that Ellacor can replace a lip lift - is this true? Cost aside, I had one lip lift and the recovery was hard - wasn't allowed to make expressions for 2 weeks which made me take off work, and i had a tight unnatural smile for months. I also wasn't allowed to do heavy weight training for 3 wks. I would love to know if there was an alternative!

Hello, hope you are well. I perform both of these procedures frequently, sometimes together. The short answer is 'no', Ellacor is not a substitute for a lip lift. The amount of skin removed is nowhere near the amount required to bring about a comparable result. A surgical lip lift also allows for much more control in terms of design and reliability of result.

Without photos I can only comment in generalities. But, since you have already gone the hard, expensive and surgical way in the past, you may wish to consider now consulting with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert about a nonsurgical lip lift that consists of using an appropriate HA filler to define and "flip" the vermilion border of the upper lip supplemented by the use of a few microdroplets of Botox injected at a few points along the border of the vermilion for added flip. 
You would be wise to exercise a great deal of buyer beware caution when being hawked any supposedly "new and improved" gizmo, as most of these expensive device treatments, while "new" may actually be "yet to be proved." Hope this helps and best of luck.
