Mb101. It is helpful to wear compression garment for your arms after Liposuction, but caution must be observed because sometimes it can cause swelling of the hands. If this occurs, the garment should be removed for periods of time. However best to get full instructions from your board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck.
Thank you fo ryour question. I have my liposuction patients wear a compression garment (faja) covering all treated 24/7 except to shower for 4 weeks post op. This helps ontrol swelling as the compression on your tissues helps your body to reabsorb the edema fluid that accumulates in the tissues after any procedure. This can take quite some time to happen without help from the compression garments. It also helps improve contour. Compression helps to keep the tissues adherent to the underlying structures while healing, this can help prevent the wrinkled skin appearance that can happen when the tissues heal in ways we don't want them to.
I would ask your plastic surgeon about garments and the duration of wear, because each plastic surgeon will a different protocol. I usually provide compression garments to my patients which cover all of the areas liposuctioned.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Compression garments are a very important partof post op care. Your surgeon will recommend anadequate garment for you. Best wishes.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well.if you do liposuction in your arms, it is recommended to wear garment. I recommend to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals.Good luck :)
Yes I do recommend a custom compression garment after arm liposuction, for about 3 weeks along with light massage in the shower
Not everyone uses compression garments.Best to ask your surgeon what he prefers. Good luck...........
I supply all of my liposuction patients with compression garments. Because these should be worn after arm liposuction for several weeks, winter/early spring is the best time to undergo the procedure.
Hello, thanks for sharing your query. Compression garment after liposuction help reduce seroma formation, swelling and also helps in skin contraction which overall improves recovery and results. The duration and type of garment depends upon the surgeon. Consult a board certified plastic surgeon.
All PS vary in their post op care plan, but I do recommend that all of my patients wear compression in the areas of liposuction for 4-6 weeks after surgery. They help to cut down on post op swelling and chance of seroma. Also, if you have any component of loose skin the compression can help to lay that back down.
You need to contact your plastic surgeon asap toexamine you. If you develop shortness of breathor pain in the legs call 911. Best wishes.
This is unlikely due to your liposuction. If it persists, I recommend getting a formal evaluation with your Doctor. The scar can be improved with lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
I use general anesthesia, because it allows for more fat removal and body shaping. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction, which can be performed at the same time as a tummy tuck, depending on skin laxity. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF and fat grafting ...
2 liters of fat is a lot of fat. 2 liters of lipoaspirate may only be 500 cc of fat in some cases. KH
It is normal to have some irregularities the first few weeks, make sure you are wearing your garment correctly otherwise some creases can be left permanent. Best of luck.
You would probably be disappointed with liposuction alone, since you appear to have some loose skin that won’t be tightened up. This loose skin will become even more prominent, giving you a “muffin top” so your mid-section won’t be flat.
