I had abdominal lipo and slowly my skin is getting wrinkled and creased with hard lumps underneath. I am 2 weeks post op and it seems like the creasing and wrinkling of my skin is worsening. I’m not really swollen and have been wearing my compression garment provided by my plastic surgeon, the adjustable waistband with foam piece. I have been doing massages and see no improvement. I know I am very early in recovery, but is this normal? My skin did not look like this prior to surgery.
Answer: Liposuction It is normal to have some irregularities the first few weeks, make sure you are wearing your garment correctly otherwise some creases can be left permanent. Best of luck.

Answer: Healing from surgery Thank you for your question. In the first few weeks after surgery you may see some lumps and creases in the area you had surgery. You may need to readjust your garment or change the garment you are wearing because these creases can become permanent if you continue to wear the garment wrong or too tight. Lymphatic massage can help to get rid of the lumps you are feeling, but this is completely normal. I would have your surgeon evaluate your progress in person and give suggestions to make sure this does not effect your final result. Good luck with recovery.

Answer: Liposuction Results & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen I recommend following up with your Doctor to make sure your compression garment fits correctly. I have my patients wear customized compression. Keep in mind, it will take 3-6 months for your final results. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Hard bumps and creases/wrinkles It is normal to have some skin irregularities after liposuction, especially so early on in recovery. It is important that your compression garment still fits you correctly. However, it is best to consult with your plastic surgeon for further after care instructions.
