My doctor did not use eye shields for eye thermage CPT. I felt severe heat for a few seconds, Has it hurt my eyesight?

I asked him to use eye shields, but he did not accept and said corneal scratches can occur. I knew it is necessary for eye area to use eye shields but when the doctor emphasized, I doubted. How do I know my eyes are damaged or not?
